Women's Self-Defense Class

If you want to learn how to defend yourself in a fun, safe, and cooperative learning environment, this is the class for you!

This class will teach you how to neutralize the most common attacks ranging from hair-grabs and choke-holds, to bear hugs and weapon defenses. The techniques learned in this class will teach you leverage, technique, and timing so that anyone, regardless of age, can take on larger opponents.

*No martial arts experience required!

This self-defense class will be taught by Master Brian Ward who is a 5th degree black belt and International Recognized Senior Master Level Instructor with over 20 years experience as a student, competitor, and teacher.

Keiser Empowered Course

Sunday, August 20

Join your Keiser Master Trainer for a workshop that will evolve your instructing style, help you better engage your riders and empower them to develop their skills beyond the basics. Instructors will learn how to effectively use cycling metrics such as power and cadence, plus discover helpful coaching tips, cues and drills. Instructors also will learn how to develop formats and playlists that rock a ride and get the club buzzing.

Youth Fitness Floor Certification

September 3 – 24

Have you ever wanted to add your

12 or 13 year old to your Membership?

Now is your chance!

The Youth Fitness Floor Certification is an exclusive program for 12 and 13 year olds of current Wellness Center members. Upon completion of the 4-week program, participants will be eligible to be added on to their parents' membership.* (Restrictions apply. Completion of the program does not constitute payment for membership fees.) All classes will be 90 minutes in length and taught by an Exercise Physiologist. Classes will consist of the effective use of fitness equipment, basic exercise guidelines, the Center's etiquette policies, and safety precautions. Participants will be quizzed each week on the previous week's information and must pass a practical exam before becoming eligible for membership.

Additional membership costs may apply based on membership type. Please note that all classes MUST be attended for successful completion of the course.

A minimum of 6 participants is required to run the course.

Deep Sea Challenge

Come join Maria Papenbrock for an advanced water aerobics class!

This deep sea water workout is geared to perform exercises while treading water. Participants have the option of using floatation devices or using their body weight. This class is a full body workout done in the lap pool, incorporating cardio and upper/lower body strength moves. This class is great for anyone who enjoys taking water aerobics classes or anyone looking to add a new challenge to their fitness routine.

Summer Shred Series

The Summer Shred Series is for all exercisers who are looking to achieve a stronger, leaner body this summer. Classes meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 1 hour consisting of high-energy drills on the Rig, body weight exercises, and calorie-burning cardio sessions both inside and outside (weather permitting). Each session of the series also includes Nutrition services led by a Registered Dietitian. Each Session has 3 different times available.

Session 1: Includes a Resting Metabolic Rate test to determine each individual's caloric needs as well as a detailed meal plan for optimal weight loss support.

Session 2: Includes private weekly 15-minute appointments with the Dietitian to set goals and achieve them.

Session 3: Includes 1 Spin and Learn and 1 cooking demonstration led by the Dietitian during regular class meeting times.

The individual who loses the most inches each session receives a free 50-minute spa service.
