Aqua Boot Camp is back!

Don’t miss your opportunity to join in this great work out.

This isn’t your typical Aqua Class.  Join Maria Papenbrock in this high intensity Aqua Boot Camp in both the Lap and Therapy Pools.  Participants will experience cardio and strength training work-outs with exercises that include band work, jumps, medicine ball routines, running and strength exercises.  If you thought Aqua work was easy, let this class change your mind!

Lifeguard Certification and Recertification

Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard?

Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard.

Required Materials

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Manual

Can be purchased from www.redcrossstore.org or downloaded for free at www.americanredcross.org.

  • Adult/Child and Infant CPR Mask

Included in cost of full certification course. If you do not have a CPR mask for the re-certification course, you can purchase one at www.redcrossstore.org or from the Wellness Center.

Course Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 15 before the final scheduled session (proof required)
  • Attend and participate in all course sessions
  • Perform all required skills with 100% accuracy
  • Score at least 80% on the final exams
  • The following skills must be demonstrated  in the pre-test:
  • Swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl and breaststroke
  • Swim 20 yards, retrieve 10-pound object, then swim 20 yards back to starting point and remove object without ladder or steps within 1 minute 40 seconds
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only

DANCE PARTY ZUMBA®

Join us the first Friday of the month, for a 75 minute high energy Zumba dance party! Combine high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations and dance away your worries. Based on the principle that a workout should be fun and easy to do, Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout – great for both the body and the mind.

The Summer Shred Series is for all exercisers who are looking to achieve a stronger, leaner body this summer. Classes meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for 1 hour consisting of high-energy drills on the Rig, body weight exercises, and calorie-burning cardio sessions both inside and outside (weather permitting). Each session of the series also includes Nutrition services led by a Registered Dietitian. Each Session has 3 different times available.

Session 1: Includes a Resting Metabolic Rate test to determine each individual's caloric needs as well as a detailed meal plan for optimal weight loss support.

Session 2: Includes private weekly 15-minute appointments with the Dietitian to set goals and achieve them.

Session 3: Includes 1 Spin and Learn and 1 cooking demonstration led by the Dietitian during regular class meeting times.

The individual who loses the most inches each session receives a free 50-minute spa service.

Women's Self-Defense Class

If you want to learn how to defend yourself in a fun, safe, and cooperative learning environment, this is the class for you!

This class will teach you how to neutralize the most common attacks ranging from hair-grabs and choke-holds, to bear hugs and weapon defenses. The techniques learned in this class will teach you leverage, technique, and timing so that anyone, regardless of age, can take on larger opponents.

*No martial arts experience required!
