Please join Kenny as he gives a 15-minute lecture on injury prevention for running and endurance training and a brief introduction on exercise methodologies composed of prehab, foot-up communication, quality stretches, and running form screening.

Holiday Hoops Tournament

Think you have what it takes to be crowned champion of the Cameron Wellness Center Courts?

Then grab your friends and join us on Saturday, December 30th for the first annual Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center 3 V 3 Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament! Each team must have 3-6 players (With at least 1 wellness center member per team). There will be 2 divisions; 18-30, and 31+. All teams are guaranteed two games, prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams, and refreshments will be served throughout the day!

Tournament tipoff starts at 10:00 AM, you aren’t going to want to miss this!

Swim Clinic for Masters Swimmers

This clinic is great for any swimmer over the age of 18 looking to improve their technique and stroke for triathlons, master breathing techniques and become more efficient in the water.  Learn a complete stroke breakdown both in a out of the water.

Lifeguard Certification and Recertification

Interested in a great summer job or challenging career as a professional lifeguard?

Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you’ll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard.

This is a blended learning  course, combining online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency.

A Certified Lifeguard Instructor through the American Red Cross.

Required Materials (must have before first class!):

  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Manual

Can be purchased from www.redcrossstore.org or downloaded for free at www.americanredcross.org.

  • Adult/Child and Infant CPR Mask

Included in cost of full certification course. If you do not have a CPR mask for the re-certification course, you can purchase one at www.redcrossstore.org or from the Wellness Center.

Course Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 15 before the final scheduled session (proof required)
  • Attend and participate in all course sessions
  • Perform all required skills with 100% accuracy
  • Score at least 80% on the final exams
  • The following skills must be demonstrated  in the pre-test:
  • Swim 300 yards continuously using the front crawl and breaststroke
  • Swim 20 yards, retrieve 10-pound object, then swim 20 yards back to starting point and remove object without ladder or steps within 1 minute 40 seconds
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only

ALL ONLINE LEARNING MODULES MUST BE COMPLETED IN ADVANCE OF THE IN-PERSON SKILLS SESSIONS.

Pickleball

This fun and easy racquet sport combines elements of badminton, tennis and table tennis to provide you with a healthy fitness activity.
