Check-in & Check-Out
Parents are only permitted to bring their own children. Children will be allowed to leave only with the person who brought them. Parents are not allowed to leave the Center premises while their child is in Cameron Kids.
In the event of an unforeseen circumstance when the person who signed in the child will not be able to pick up the child, you must inform us at the time the child is dropped off. In such case, written documentation of authorized substitutes must be on file. We require a copy of your substitute’s current driver’s license or photo ID to keep on file. The authorized substitute must present us with a photo ID when picking up your child.
Each child must be registered and approved prior to usage of Cameron Kids. A photo of the child will be required.
Upon arrival, the parent must sign the child in at the CK front desk, indicating their location within the Center. A name tag with the child and parent’s name will be placed on the child’s back for quick identification and security purposes. When picking up the child, the parent must sign out.
Time Limit
There is a 90 minute maximum time limit that a child can remain in Cameron Kids. Children are admitted on a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you pick up your child promptly to allow others to also use the facility. If you are consistently late, privileges may be suspended.
Wait Time & Capacity
Our maximum capacity limits are set in accordance with PA state guidelines. When the maximum capacity has been reached, the parent/child will be placed on a waiting list for the next available space. Parents are responsible for their child until a vacancy occurs.
Illness
Sick children cannot be accepted in Cameron Kids. If in the judgment of the CK Attendant, your child exhibits symptoms of illness (fever, cough, runny nose, skin rash, vomiting, diarrhea, red eyes with discharge), your child will not be permitted entry or may be asked to be removed. Please respect the judgment of our team as they are trying to avoid exposing other children to illness. Children may return to Cameron Kids once they have been symptom free for 24 hours.
Children who do not attend regular school (elementary or day care) due to possible illness will not be permitted into Cameron Kids that day.
Please advise the CK Attendant if your child comes down with a contagious illness (e.g., chicken pox) so that we may alert other parents.
If your child has a known history of allergies, please advise the CK Attendant. CK Attendants are not permitted to dispense or administer medication.
Behavior Rules
While in Cameron Kids, it is expected that your child follow the CK Attendants’ directions and respect others with proper manners. No hitting, pushing, biting, throwing objects, running or jumping off furniture will be tolerated.
The method of discipline is Time Out. The child will be asked to sit on a chair for one minute per one year of age. If the behavior is not corrected or if the child is biting, hitting or fighting, the parent may be asked to remove the child from Cameron Kids immediately.
Incident
An incident is any occurrence which is not consistent with the routine care of a child. In the case of a minor incident, an accident report will be completed and the parent will be required to sign the report.
In the event of an emergency, a code will be called in accordance with the Center’s emergency procedures and the parent will be notified through the pager system.
No food or drink
No food or drinks are permitted in Cameron Kids. Clearly labeled sippy cups provided by the parent are allowed but need to be left at the CK Desk. Children should be fed prior to placement in Cameron Kids.
Acclimation
Our goal is to help your child enjoy his/her stay with Cameron Kids. If your child is inconsolable for 10 minutes, we will contact you.
Changing of Diapers
Children should be freshly changed upon arrival. In the event a child has an accident, the parent will be paged. CK Attendants are not permitted to change diapers. Parents of children being potty trained are encouraged to have an extra set of clothing on hand.
Toys, Etc.
Cameron Kids provides many toys, games, and puzzles for the children. Toys brought from home will not be permitted, including electronic devices (e.g. IPads, IPods, or hand-held games).
The Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items.
