5 Ways to Motivate Yourself Back to the Gym

Getting to the gym can be half the battle. Finding the time, prioritizing your wellness above other important life matters and the sheer lack of desire for physical activity at times can be major challenges (and let’s face it, excuses) that prevent us from taking the highly necessary “us” time that we need.

Finding motivation is one of the key ways to get yourself to the gym and so we’ve put together some tips on how to stick with it and get your mindset to a place that will not only help you get to the gym, but hopefully keep you coming back.

Have a Game Plan

Struggling to get yourself to the gym? Don’t feel guilty. Make a plan. Once you get back into the swing of going to the gym, it is essential to make a workout plan you can stick to. Having a goal to work toward, such as weight loss, building muscle, or a combination of both can help you focus your efforts on achieving that goal, giving you a reason to head to the gym.

Make it Social

Accountability is a significant part of staying motivated, so consider finding a friend to go to the gym with. Friends can make working out more fun and can serve as your inspiration as you watch them move forward and make progress. Having a partner who is relying on you to make it to the gym will help to motivate you and hold you accountable.
