Betsy M.
Betsy graduated from Washington & Jefferson College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in English. Betsy also earned her Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She has a certificate in Health Coaching from the Institute for Integrated Nutrition.
Betsy is an accomplished health coach in the corporate health space and personally obsessed with all thing’s health and fitness.
Betsy previously worked in consulting where she helped clients with change management, training, development and organizational design all while assisting staff with stress, anxiety and burnout. She is excited to help expand the corporate wellness services in the Southwestern Pa region through the Center. Betsy and her husband reside in Washington where they spend most of their free time cheering in the stands supporting their daughters and teammates watching youth swim and volleyball.
As the Corporate Wellness Coordinator, Betsy will lead the Center’s initiative to improve the health and wellness of the employees of the Center’s corporate accounts as well as manage the nutrition department. She will coordinate the corporate wellness programs, days, events and communications for the Center. Betsy looks forward to getting to know current corporate clients. Executive Director
Debbie R.
Debbie has worked at the wellness center since 2003. She has 30+ years of sales and management experience in the health and wellness, hospitality/private club and benefits industries. As the executive director of the UPMC Wellness Center, she strives to manage the center to be the preferred choice for members, clients, and employees in the Washington area. She is committed to the facility, including the safety and management of the team and the provision of professionally delivered quality services to the members and clients in a clean, safe and respectful environment. Debbie is the 2014 recipient of the “Executive Director of the Year” awarded by the Medical Fitness Association.
Fitness Coordinator
James D.
Bachelors in Health and Exercise Science in Dec 2024 (Waynesburg University); Certified Fitness Trainer w/specializations in Strength and Conditioning and Bodybuilding (ISSA); NASM Certified Personal Trainer in Aug 2024
In 2021, James was awarded as an All-American athlete to the National High School Strength Coaches Association (NHSSCA) before playing collegiate football for two years at Waynesburg University. In 2023, James then transitioned to be the intern assistant strength and conditioning coach at the university for sports including football, basketball, wrestling, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s lacrosse. He currently competes and trains as a CrossFit athlete. He has had extensive exposure in a short amount of time with the overall fitness industry. Getting people healthy is one of his biggest passions! His training specialties include HIIT workouts, Olympic weightlifting, weight loss, and velocity-based training. He is willing to work with anyone and will push you to achieve your goals!
Marketing Coordinator
Jordan B.
Jordan is a driven professional with a bachelors’ degree in Criminal Justice from West Virginia Wesleyan, where he excelled as a four-year scholarship student-athlete on the football team. Following graduation in 2017, he served with distinction in the United States Navy aboard the USS Nimitz, from 2018-2022 as a human resource specialist and command fitness leader, helping sailors exceed military standards. After his service, Jordan thrived in civilian HR roles from 2022-2024 before returning to school to earn his Master’s in Digital Marketing in 2025. Now, he brings that expertise and dedication as our Marketing Coordinator.
Membership Manager
Karen F.
Karen joined the UPMC Wellness Center in December 2023. She has over thirty years of experience in customer service, recruiting, and sales, including working as a real estate agent and owning and operating a staffing franchise for over fifteen years prior to joining the UPMC Wellness Center. She currently manages the membership team and supports new members as they transition over to a healthier way of life. As a lifetime promoter of health and wellness, she feels that it is never too late to start and that daily movement is key to improving our overall health and wellbeing.
Fitness Director
Kate S.
Kate graduated with dual Bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science and Physical Education from the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio. Kate has worked in fitness management where she has been a wellness program developer for children, teens and adults. In fitness, she has served as a personal trainer through the America College of Sports Medicine, a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist (XPS) and certified Fitness Specialist (XFS)through EXOS. Kate also serves as a certified SpeedoFit instructor, certified Kettlebell Cardio Instructor in addition to teaching a variety of group exercise classes. In aquatics she has served as a swim instructor, swim coach and a certified pool operator through the National Swimming Pool Foundation.
Business Operations Manager
Kimberly P.
Kim graduated from Washington & Jefferson College where she earned a B.A in Business Administration with a minor in Mathematics. Kim joined the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center in August 2016. She has over thirty years of financial operations experience as a Controller in the group life and health benefits industry where she managed revenue recognition, accounts payable, payroll, HR, customer service and employee benefits. She currently manages the Business Office at the Center including the Administration and Front Desk Teams and the Pro Shop. In her free time, Kim enjoys attending theater productions and traveling.
Group Exercise Coordinator
Kyra N.
Kyra started her career in the medical field, where she was a Program Coordinator, Health and Wellness Coach, and Interim Director and Lead Instructor at a career school. She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She also teaches group exercise classes. Kyra is an avid runner and enjoys hiking, kayaking, and traveling.
Personal Training Supervisor
Mike H.
Mike was born and raised in Princeton, NJ and earned his bachelors in Kinesiology from Pennsylvania State University. After he graduated, he spent the next year interning with Penn State Football’s Performance Enhancement team. During the internship, he earned his CSCS through the NSCA as a practicing certified strength coach. After the internship was over Mike took a graduate assistant position at St. Francis University working with women’s soccer, women’s water polo, track and field, and football teams. Mike is also Certified in Adaptive Personal Training. This will help the center be better prepared to train individuals who are differently abled. Through the certification course, he gained an understanding of how to effectively communicate and train individuals who have down syndrome, autism, suffered a stroke, and have cerebral palsy. This information will help all of our trainers be better prepared to take on any client who wants to train at the Wilfred R. Cameron Wellness Center.
Administrative Assistant
Monica M.
Monica holds an associate’s degree in accounting from Penn West (formerly California University) and brings a wealth of expertise to every role she takes on. With a distinguished 10-year tenure at 84 Lumber, including a promotion to personal assistant for owner Joe Hardy, Monica has proven her dedication and talent time and again. Her impressive 25-year real estate career and 18 years at the center reflect her commitment and passion for making a difference—especially when it comes to helping our members thrive!
Operations Director
Tanya P.
After attending Washington & Jefferson College, Tanya operated a family restaurant and a gift shop in Scenery Hill for many years. Tanya began working at Spa Harmony as a massage therapist in 2011. She then transitioned quickly into roles as Spa Receptionist, Spa Client Coordinator, Spa and Front End Supervisor and currently Operations Manager. She is certified in Massage Therapy, Reflexology, and several other spa modalities and spent a year teaching massage therapy at Penn Commercial. Inspiring and training her spa staff is her passion and keeping both spa clients and members happy is her specialty.
Child Care Supervisor
Taylor C.
Taylor graduated with her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Washington & Jefferson College. She currently serves as the Childcare Supervisor at the center, where she works closely with children and families to create a safe, engaging, and positive environment. Taylor has a passion for working with kids and finds it incredibly rewarding to support their growth and development. She is dedicated to helping each child in any way she can, whether that’s through encouragement, guidance, or simply creating a fun and welcoming space for them to be themselves.
